About Health First Medical Group
Health First Medical Group is one of the medical specialists listed in Palm Bay, Florida. The business is registered at 3425 Bayside Lakes Blvd SE Ste 110, Palm Bay, FL 32909; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.
In Palm Bay, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across Florida, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Check the listing for insurance, hours and whether telehealth visits are offered.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (321) 434-3131. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, hf.org.
Its Google rating stands at 3.0 out of 5 from 16 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Palm Bay is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Palm Bay is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I don't care about polite or impolite receptionists, or how poor or well they keep appointments. As a male born man, I focus on priorities, like competent medical care. They don't even know how to take your blood pressure. You should be at rest for 5 minutes, not 30 seconds. They do it wrong because they're in a hurry. You don't take blood pressure putting the cuff over your shirt, roll up the shirt and put the cuff on your arm just above the elbow, not 3" above. So naturally the reading was high. I have to be my own doctor and cut my pills in half. The doctor doesn't even answer direct questions about the test results. I never smoked in my life, and rare every drink, so the doctor puts in the notes "patient denies drinking and smoking." No, that's not denial, its a fact. Doctors want to blame easy things for health conditions without considering what is the actual cause. It's all about sending you for more tests, finding anything wrong with you on the visit to get more money from insurance. It's nothing more than a money game. Many in the medical field lack a true interest in making people well, and this facility is not rising above that fact.

Called at 2 PM on a Wednesday to schedule an appt as a new patient. Waited 25 minutes (was curious how long it would take) and no one ever answered. I didn't want to wait any longer than that.

The front desk receptionists have been awful. Rude. Not helpful. This is not only on one occasion. I have now experienced this three separate times. I also have the same exact thing to say about the Malabar location. I've been scheduled separate appointments at both locations. Not once have I been greeted with any warmth or even helpfulness. The crass attitudes of all women at these desks is beyond me. Even after I've sat awaiting to be called back, I've witnessed the same ladies being abhorrent to an elderly woman who was very confused and got flustered and upset from the way the women at the front desk spoke to her.

Don’t waste your time… scheduled the end of 2023. They called the week before the appt and cancelled— said they didn’t have my records. I called back— can I get them sent over and keep my appt? Nope— said Dr Baumbry’s protocol. Fast forward to my appt next week. Got a message today saying a different day and time. So, I call. Office Manager says sorry, we left you a message we needed to change it back in January. I give up… worst office support ever. They refuse to accommodate me, said they could reschedule me, but not for 2 more months. Ugh, terrible service. Thanks for wasting my time.

Staff are friendly, physicians are wonderful! However, lab? Awful! 2 attempts on different days to obtain a lab draw, once an hour wait, second attempt; 1 1/2 hour wait. As I’ve worked in the medical field for more than 30 years I understand how walk in services can become overwhelming for staff, but to be an hour and 1/2 behind @9:30am when you open @8:30am is poor management for the staff, and poor service to the patient. Difficult to resolve I’m sure, but in the end, the patient’s care in this dept is one of the worst I’ve seen. I’d suggest scheduling with a private lab (Quest; Labcorp, etc) or go directly to Palm Bay hospital lab which is much more efficient.

Overcharge, nickle and dime you basically... I've been a patient of Health First for a few years. Recently went to an obgyn and they charged me $146 to remove 1 skin tag and then another charge as a new patient. I shouldn't be charged as a new patient since I've been in your facility for years. We did not go over medical history etc... as that info is in your system. Starting to sense some insurance fraud here.

My mom is already a patient of Michelle Swann’s who we really like at this clinic. Yesterday my adult son with chronic neurological Lyme disease needed to establish care and chose Ernst Merceron APRN and what a wonderful experience!! Having a little understood, debilitating and sometimes controversial medical condition, he has often been dismissed … not here …it was so wonderful to have a medical professional treat him with such dignity and respect! The lab techs (blood people 😊) were also so accommodating with all the non typical lab work his specialist in Denver needed. All of them are amazing!! Highly recommend this clinic and this practitioner!!

We tried to give this place a chance, three times. We had a appointment later in the day and they completely forgot about us and locked us in, and if a woman cleaning hadn't found us we would've been stuck. Then we set up another appointment which they cancelled without telling us because the Doctor had a conference he needed to attend (which why did they give us the option for that time then?? Like??) And today! We tried one last time, asking for an in-office appointment, specifically saying multiple times we wanted an IN-OFFICE appointment and then having them read it back to us, and then we show up on time to find they set it up as a virtual appointment. Never coming back. The Incompetence and ridiculousness. Wouldn't ever recommend coming here--it's not worth it.
